DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 3 (Three): (1) Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Fleet Series" shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day time, strike and alarm movement in an oak case, c1909; (2) E. N. Welch Mfg. Co., Forestville, Conn., "Coghlan" shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day, time and strike movement in an ash case with ebonized accent, c1885. (3) New Haven Clock Co., New Haven, Conn., "Elbe" shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day time, strike and alarm movement with a patent dial pendulum in a walnut case, c1880.
CONDITION: (1) The case may have been refinished but is in excellent condition. The original paper dial has wear. The hands are original. The door glass appears original; (2) The case is very attractive with the ebonized accents on the ash case. Some of the original finish remains. The original painted dial is in excellent condition. The hands are original. The stenciled door glass is original. (3) The walnut case is in excellent condition but needs a coat of finish. The original painted dial has small losses. The hands are original. The stenciled door glass is original. Note: The largest dimensions are for clock number 3.
